perfectly whelmed improv

Class Description

In this class, students will be introduced to basic concepts of comedy improv such as “yes and” (enthusiastically accepting what is offered), “group mind” (listening to each other and working as a team) and “space object work” (miming objects and environments). Using warm-up exercises and “structures”, students will be encouraged to trust their instincts, think on their feet and support each other. (It is said that a good improviser is one who makes his or her teammates look good.)  They will also laugh a lot!

“With improv, it’s a combination of listening and not trying to be funny…”                                Kristen Wiig
